Delivery Manager

As a leader within our core team, you will be required to wear many hats where no task is too small or too big. Primarily you should be a pragmatic delivery manager with excellent project and people managing skills. You should be comfortable owning the product and managing the project's entire life cycle while leading a team to deliver a high-quality product on time and within budget. Apart from leadership and management skills, being detail oriented and having a customer-focused mindset will be important to succeed in the role.

Introduction

Fireant is a full-service digital product agency based in Sydney. We service a range of clients from startups through to large enterprises and government agencies. We are a passionate group of engineers with a love for creating great software that people want.

We are Y-Combinator and Startmate Alumni. We generally join a project at inception and consult on vision, scope, revenue, marketing and design in addition to implementation.

We operate a highly-skilled, distributed team with core personnel based in Sydney. Most of our engineers are remote. 

‍

Our tech stack is continually evolving. Right now we prefer cloud-native applications with a serverless architecture. Our codebase is mostly Javascript (Typescript) with a React/ReactNative frontend talking to a NodeJS backend.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Gathering customer requirements and defining project scope
  • Creating and managing project backlog 
  • Ensuring a clear plan and delivery in line with project and product requirements
  • Leading project team that could consist of developer(s), designer and quality assurance engineer
  • Task allocation and ensuring the timeline and quality of deliverables
  • Ensuring project milestones and the project scope are delivered on time and within budget
  • Reporting and collaborating with the customer throughout the project 
  • Managing customer expectations and project scope understanding
  • Creating and managing functional project documentation
  • Working on multiple projects within the company's project portfolio simultaneously

  • Excellent communications skills with customers, team and stakeholders 
  • Extensive agency and product delivery experience
  • Hands-on member of the team enthusiastic about wearing many hats where no task is too small or too big

  • Self-motivated with a great sense of product ownership
  • Love the variety and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-organising with an ability to create processes 
  • Take pride in delivering success for both the project and the client. 
  • Detail-oriented with a high bar for product quality
  • Comfortable in working with remote teams
